Reactions to this morning’s attacks on the HDP’s Adana and Mersin offices are continuing. KESK Co-president Özgen and ÖDP Co-president Taş said the AKP had a role in the attacks.
Yüksekdağ: the struggle goes on
HDP Co-president Figen Yüksekdağ told Mednuçe TV that the governing party was encouraging attacks on her party on account of fear of defeat at the elections, adding that they would continue their campaign despite the risks.
Özgen: AKP is legitimising the attacks
KESK Co-president Lami Özgen said that the AKP had a role in the attack, adding that the government had been legitimising such attacks for some time. He asked: “What will happen next? Will there be assassinations?” “World public opinion is condemning such practices. The AKP should not incite such attacks. If it does it will only be preparing its own demise,” he added.
Taş: The AKP is dissolving and falling apart
ÖDP Co-president Alper Taş said that the AKP had stepped up its hostility to the HDP, adding: "This shows that the AKP is in the process of falling apart, and the FDP is one of the significant factors contributing to this.” Taş said that the PM, President and Yalçın Akdoğan had promised that good things would happen if the HDP failed to exceed the threshold, and that these promises had mobilised certain forces. Taş added: "But there is no point in fearing the inevitable. These attacks are an indication of how they have weakened.”
