Yüksekdağ: Kobanê and Rojava Revolution will gain victory

A delegation composed of chairs and executives of People’s Democratic Party (HDP), Socialist Democracy Party (SDP), Labour Party (EMEP) as well Human Rights Association (IHD) visited Kobanê and held a meeting with the prime minister and ministers of the Kobanê canton on Friday.

The delegation was composed of HDP co-chair Figen Yüksekdağ, SDP co-chair Rıdvan Turan, IHD chair Öztürk Türkdogan, EMEP chair Selma Gürkan, HDP vice-chair Meral Danış Bektaş, executives of Kurdistan Lawyers Association, former mayor of Amed, Osman Baydemir.

In a statement to the press at the Mursit Pınar border gate following the visit, HDP co-chair Figen Yüksekdağ said the people of Kobanê of all ages are at the battle front fighting against ISIS, adding that Kobanê and Rojava Revolution will definitely gain victory.

Yüksekdağ further said that all the fighters they met as well the people and the politicians in Kobanê all have a high motivation and morale, adding; “Last night the most extensive attack took place but the gangs have been repelled and forced to withdraw some 15 km back at least. All the people we met were high-spirited”

Yüksekdağ told that the canton administrative came from the front in order to meet the delegation and turned back to the front after the meeting to fight together with the youths.

HDP co-chair stressed that news published by some media organs alleging that Kobanê has fallen are in no way reflecting the truth, adding that a determined resistance continues in Kobanê and Kobanê and Rojava will finally gain victory.

Yüksekdağ called on all the people to reclaim Kobanê and the Rojava Revolution, saying “Kobanê and Rojava Revolution will definitely win. We have witnessed the determination of people, fighters and politicians and the spirit of resistance. Our friends there said the protest of the people at the border was very meaningful to them and sent their greetings. I want to repeat once again, our people in Kobanê and Rojava will definitely win”.
