Academy in memory of martyr Ferhad Shibli to open in Raqqa

A memorial was held for martyr Ferhad Shibli on the first anniversary of his death, and the foundations of the academy to be named after him were laid in Raqqa.

The Autonomous Administration of Northern and Eastern Syria held a memorial for martyr Ferhat Shibli at the Mişwar Hall in Raqqa, on the first anniversary of his death. Shibli fell as a martyr in the attack carried out by the Turkish state in Sulaymaniyah.

The memorial was attended by Ferhad Shibli's family, the co-presidency of the Autonomous Administration Executive Council, members of civil and military organizations, political parties and Raqqa dignitaries.

Hisên Osman, co-chair of the Northern and Eastern Syria Autonomous Administration Council, said that Ferhad Shibli was the hope for a better future and added: "Martyr Ferhad was a pioneer in the work of institutions. He confirmed to the whole world that the democratic nation and the brotherhood of the peoples is the foundation of the construction of Syria's future."

Fatma Behbûh, a member of the North and East Syria Martyrs' Families Council, stated that Shibli was the symbol of resistance and sacrifice against the occupation and terrorism.

After the speeches, a video about Shibli's life was screened.

At the end of the memorial, the participants went to the village of Kesrat in the south of Raqqa and laid the foundations of the Martyr Ferhad Shibli Academy that will be established there.
