Afrin Liberation Forces kill 4 mercenaries in Sherawa

The Afrin Liberation Forces have been fighting the Turkish occupation in northern Syria for five years. Four mercenaries were killed in an attack on a base in Sherawa. Three others were injured.

Four mercenaries linked to Turkey were killed and three others were injured in an attack by the Afrin Liberation Forces (HRE) against Turkish occupation troops in northwest Syria.

The Kurdish resistance group said on Friday night that the action was carried out within the frame of the ‘right to resist’ against continued attacks in the region by the Turkish army and its proxy groups.

According to the HRE, the ambush-like attack was directed against a base between the villages of Kîmar and Berad (Brad), around fifteen kilometers south of Afrin city in the occupied part of Sherawa. Two positions and a group shelter as well as a surveillance camera and a moped were also destroyed.

The military equipment seized was a MG PK (universal machine gun) including accessories, two AK-47s and associated ammunition, a tactical night vision device, several cell phones and radios. An identification document was also seized.

About the HRE

The HRE was founded in 2018 after Turkey's occupation of Afrin. The resistance group fights with the aim of liberating the region and retaliating for the occupiers' continued attacks.
