Turkey’s cross-border military offensive seeking to invade North and East Syria, launched on October 9 with a massive participation of jihadist mercenaries, continues despite the ceasefire announced on Thursday.
The attacks that are mainly directed against civilian areas have also targeted the hospital in Serekaniye city several times since Wednesday. According to reports of the authorities in the region, dozens of civilians are waiting to be treated in the city and some of them have already passed away due to lack of medicine and blood amid ongoing bombardments by the Turkish army and allies.
Both the city hospital and Kurdish Red Crescent ambulances have been targeted by Turkish forces during the last days of the invasion attempt there.
After days of failed attempts, the Kurdish Red Crescent (Heyva Sor) and International Red Cross have finally managed to enter the city of Serekaniye on Saturday to deliver medical supplies and retrieve the seriously wounded individuals from the hospital.
According to the Rojava Information Center, the convoy could not stay long but they were able to retrieve a number of seriously wounded individuals from the Serekaniye hospital.
