Evîn Siwêd and Hisên Osman, Co-Chairs of the Executive Council of the Democratic Autonomous Administration of North and East Syria, read a statement on the occasion of Newroz, Kurdish New Year, on Monday.

The Autonomous Administration commemorated the martyrs who sacrificed their lives for the people to live in freedom and dignity and not to extinguish the Newroz fire.

The Autonomous Administration congratulated all the people of the region, especially the families of martyrs, SDF fighters and members of the Internal Security Forces, and then lit the Newroz fire.

With the lighting of the fire, it was announced that the 2024 Newroz celebrations have started in the cities, districts and towns of the cantons in Northern and Eastern Syria.

The Autonomous Administration called on the people to participate in the Newroz celebrations.
