The biggest sports centre in the Cizre region, built by the Damascus government and about to be demolished, will be put back into service by the Sports Council of the Cizre region.
Cizre region Sports Council started the renovation of the building at the end of 2022.
The hall in the Asuri District of Qamishlo is 50 meters long and 30 meters wide. The centre houses volleyball, basketball, handball and table tennis halls. The centre has a seating capacity for 200 people to watch matches.
According to Muhened El Ehmed, Director of the Sports Halls Office, the centre will be the largest in Northern and Eastern Syria when the work is completed. El Ehmed told ANHA that many activities and various sports tournaments will be held in the centre.
El Ehmed announced that the hall will open before the end of this month.
