Although cotton production in northern and eastern Syria declined due to the war and the attacks carried out by mercenary groups, cotton harvest was noticeably increased following the complete liberation of the region by the Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF).

The Autonomous Administration initiatives met all the needs of farmers who began to harvest cotton in the region.

Sehif center, which is one of the 5 cotton buying centers in Serêkaniyê, in Northern and Eastern Syria, has started to buy cotton since Saturday.

The center is scheduled to receive 2,000 tons of cotton per day. Ehmed Yûnis, Director of Cotton Purchase Center, stated that the center has a capacity of 25 thousand tons.

He called on the farmers in the region to apply to the committees in their areas to obtain the necessary documents.
