Youth organizations in Rojava and Northern Syria continue their demonstration at Semelka Border Crossing in protest at Turkey’s attacks and invasion attempts against South Kurdistan.
The action, staged as part of the “Serî Hilde” (Rise Up) campaign, is receiving more support from various circles every day.
Kurds and Arabs from Derik’s Girke Lege district and Rimelan town have paid a solidarity visit to the activists.
Carrying images of Kurdish People’s Leader Abdullah Öcalan, the people gathered at the Azadi (Freedom) Square in Girke Lege before marching to Semelka.
Speaking during the visit, PYD (Democratic Union Party) Youth organization member Mustafa Ehmed condemned Turkey’s attacks against South Kurdistan as well as the ongoing invasion and crimes against humanity committed in Afrin. Ehmed underlined that “Ottoman dreams have been frustrated by the sacrifice of martyrs of Kurdistan.”
Girke Lege District Council Co-chair Mihemed Cemil also condemned the Turkish state’s attacks on Rojava and South Kurdistan, and underlined that the will of the Kurdish people will never be broken.
