An orphanage is going to be opened in Kobanê for the children orphaned in gang attacks in Rojava.
With support from the Cizire region Free Women’s Foundation, the Euphrates Region Free Women’s Foundation is opening an orphanage for the children who lost their parents in the Syrian war and the Rojava Revolution.
Many children have been orphaned in the resistance against terrorism in Rojava and the city of Kobanê in particular during the ongoing Rojava revolution. The city of Kobanê, known for its historic resistance, was subjected to gang attacks several times. In an attack by ISIS gangs on June 25, 2015, many children lost their parents.
The Free Women’s Foundation launched a project to build an orphanage in 2015, and the project is now at completion. There will be courses in Kurdish, Arabic and English as well as technical, artistic and sports training in the orphanage for the children.
The Orphanage will open its doors for 50 children from Kobanê in August. 18 women have taken a role in the orphanage.
Officials announced that the orphanage will open soon under the name Keske Soran Alan.
Kobanê Canton Free Women’s Foundation Representative Fidan Dirêî said: “The Orphanage was built to embrace the children who lost their families, to protect them from life’s problems and to let them know all aspects of life with cultural and other trainings.”
