The Afrin Liberation Forces (Hêzên Rizgariya Efrînê, HRE) released the balance sheet of the attacks by the Turkish army and allied jihadists for the months of August and September.
The statement stressed that; “The Turkish invasion army and terrorist groups under their command, which have occupied the Afrin region starting from 20 January 2018 and caused the displacement of people to Shehba, have continued with their genocidal attacks enjoying the silence of international states, so-called international human rights organizations and the international community. This silence on increasingly ongoing attacks leads to a permanent threat to the civilian population living in the region.”
HRE pointed out that the Turkish invasion army forces have targeted the civilian population directly in the genocidal attacks they have carried out in violation of international law in the past two months.
“In addition, the attacks destroy the people’s vineyards, gardens and agricultural land. People who were displaced by the terror of the Turkish military and found refuge in camps in Shehba have to live under the fire from Turkish howitzers, mortars, tanks and drones. With these attacks, the Turkish military is trying to drive the people of Afrin away and implement a genocide policy."
The HRE reported that the Turkish military has also set up new bases, especially in the regions of Afrin, Azaz and al-Bab.
