KCDK-E calls for urgent action against Turkish attacks on Rojava

In light of the massive Turkish attacks on Rojava, KCDK-E is calling for urgent protests across Europe, warning that: "If we don't mobilise now, Rojava is in the greatest danger."

The Turkish state has been attacking Rojava with all its might for days, bombing civilian infrastructure, hospitals, petrol stations, factories, shops and houses. In the face of the massive wave of attacks, protests are taking place all over Europe.

The Congress of Democratic Societies of Kurdistan in Europe (KCDK-E) released a statement calling for an expansion of the protests and denouncing the "all-out attack" on Rojava. "Under the eyes of international public opinion and humanity, the Turkish state is trying to occupy Kurdistan," KCDK-E warned in a statement released late on Friday night.

The association recalled Rojava's role in the fight against the self-proclaimed "Islamic State" (ISIS) and stated: "Kobanê in particular, but Rojava as a whole, has defended the dignity of humanity against the cruel mercenaries of ISIS. Now an attack is taking place with the aim of massacring the civilian population of these areas. The most modern weapons technology is being used for this purpose."

The KCDK-E warned, "If we do not rise up now, if we do not mobilise tens of thousands in Europe and worldwide, Rojava is in the greatest danger. The Kurdish people and the revolution of Rojava, and with it the hope of humanity, are under comprehensive attack. It is time we mobilise to defend our dignity, our land and our future."

The association concluded with the appeal: "As KCDK-E, we call on our people in Europe and the world to rise up immediately, to organise actions to defend Rojava with all our strength, to mobilise all our possibilities and in every country, in every city, not to leave the streets anymore. We call on all our people, councils, women, children, old people, our friends, revolutionaries, democrats, intellectuals and all those who stand for humanity to mobilise immediately under the slogans 'Everywhere is Rojava, Everywhere is Kurdistan', 'There is resistance, no surrender', 'Bijî Rêber Apo' (Long Live Leader Öcalan) and 'Turkish occupation army out of Kurdistan' and not to give in until results are achieved."
