Newroz celebrations started in the city of Manbij in Northern and Eastern Syria. There was an influx from many districts, towns and villages of Manbij Canton for the celebration at Mount Tewq El Xelil in the south of the city.
Hundreds of Arab, Kurdish, Armenian and Turkmen residents dressed in national clothes entered the celebration area chanting slogans.
The Newroz area was decorated with posters of Leader Abdullah Öcalan and martyrs of the freedom struggle. A banner reading "Physical freedom for Leader Abdullah Öcalan, a solution to the Kurdish question" was hung on the stage.
The slogan "Bê serok jiyan nabe" (No life without the leader) was frequently raised in the Newroz area, where great enthusiasm prevailed.
The Newroz torch was lit by the mothers of martyrs accompanied by songs of revolution and slogans.
