People of Euphrates Canton go on solidarity hunger strike

The people of Euphrates Canton went on hunger strike with the slogan "Freedom for Leader Abdullah Öcalan, political solution to the Kurdish question".

A two-day hunger strike was launched in the Euphrates Canton in order to support the hunger strikes that prisoners in jails in Turkey and Kurdistan have been carrying out for 31 days within the scope of the "Freedom for Abdullah Öcalan, political solution to the Kurdish question" initiative.

Hundreds of people participated in the hunger strike launched by the Martyrs' Families Assembly in Martyr Egîd Square.

Speaking at the action, Euphrates Canton Democratic Society Movement (TEV-DEM) co-chair Enwer Muslîm condemned the attacks carried out by the Turkish state.

Kongra Star Coordination Executive member Xunav Xelîl said that the people of the region will foil all conspiracies with their free will and will ensure the physical freedom of Kurdish People's Leader Abdullah Öcalan.

Euphrates Canton co-chair Mizgîn Xelîl pointed out that the Turkish state committed war crimes against the region in front of the eyes of the world, and added that they would expand the struggle against these attacks and follow in the footsteps of the martyrs.
