The General Council of the Democratic Union Party (PYD) issued a written statement on the occasion of the 4th anniversary of the Shengal massacre.

The PYD paid respect to the people of Shengal and saluted the resistance of the people throughout Kurdistan. The party also reminded that the people of Shengal set up their own autonomous administration and said that this was an achievement of the resistance.

The PYD also saluted the legendary resistance carried out by the HPG, YPG and YPJ forces, who opened the corridor through which 200,000 Yazidis managed to leave Shengal and cross into Rojava.

The party ended its remarks by calling on all national and democratic forces in the region and the parties and the international community to stand beside the Kurdish people who are resisting against the DAESH mercenaries.
