Raqqa Civil Council carries out census of families in the city

Raqqa Civil Assembly has started the census in the neighbourhoods of the city center. The census will continue in rural areas today.
The Raqqa Civil Assembly committees - the Internal Affairs Committee, the Economy Committee, the Fuel Committee, the Social Affairs and Labor Committee - took part in this work, which started on 17 May.
The aim of this work is to know and record the city population.
Raqqa Civil Assembly Internal Affairs Committee Member Salih El Haji told ANHA news agency: "We started working in the neighbourhoods of the city on 17 May with the participation of local councils and communes."
He added that they are trying to find out the number of families living in Raqqa and its rural areas.
"The population of Raqqa consists of 64 thousand 595 families. We did this work with the participation of 30 teams, local councils, people and communes."
El Haji continued: "The neighbourhood or regional commune gives a card to each family. Then, the census teams visit the houses of the residents of the neighbourhood and obtain necessary information such as family letters and identity cards."
