32 ‘Islamic State’ children of Russian nationality were repatriated in coordination with the Autonomous Administration of North and East Syria.
The Russian Commissioner for Children's Rights, Maria Belova, announced that her country had repatriated a new group of Russian "ISIS children" from camps in North and East Syria.
She stressed that the repatriation operation was carried out in coordination with the Autonomous Administration and included 32 children, who will be returned to their relatives in Russia after a rehabilitation process.
Russia has repatriated a total of 546 children belonging to ISIS families from North and East Syria and other countries in the region, said the Commissioner.
There are several camps housing thousands of families of Islamic State mercenaries, from 52 foreign countries, who have joined the ranks of the Islamic State since 2014.
The Autonomous Administration of North and East is constantly calling on countries to repatriate their nationals still in the region, warning of the dangers that these tens of thousands of women, children and men represent for the region and the world.
