The people of the Euphrates region bid farewell to the SDF fighter Ciwan Kobanê (Akif Ehmed) at the Martyr Dîcle Cemetery of Martyrs. Martyr Sipan Avareş (Xeyri Heyder), who was martyred on 15 February 2012, was also commemorated at the ceremony.

Speaking at the funeral ceremony, TEV-DEM (Democratic Society Movement) Co-Chair Rûken Ehmed said, "We express our condolences to the families of the martyrs of the freedom movement. We will follow in the footsteps of our martyrs. The martyrs defended their people until the end, and we will not leave the blood of our martyrs on the ground. Today, the resistance fighters are once again resisting in the dungeons.  We salute their resistance.”

Mihemed Cadir, one of the commanders of the Manbij Military Council, said, "We will not leave the blood of the martyrs on the ground and we will realise the dreams of the martyrs. The occupying Turkish state is constantly attacking our regions and wants to kill our people. But our people have the thought and philosophy of Leader Apo (Abdullah Öcalan). We will never see ourselves weak and we will avenge our martyrs."

Mihemed Heyder, the father of martyr Sipan Avaresh, also promised to follow the path of the martyrs.
