Six of those killed in the latest wave of Turkish attacks against North-East Syria were laid to rest in the city of Kobanê in the Euphrates Region.

Thousands of people from the Euphrates region bid farewell to six martyrs who lost their lives in the latest Turkish attacks.

The funeral ceremony for Gêlo Şêx, Huzeyfe Hiso, Ebdurehman Hecî, Îsamîl Xelî, Ebdurehman Nasan and Manbij Military Council fighter Ebû Ebûd (Îsa Casim) took place at the Şehid Dicle Cemetery of Martyrs.

Speaking here, Kongra Star Euphrates Region Coordination Member Suad Dumer stated that the Turkish state wants to crush the will of the people who stand for freedom. “The 9th of October marks the anniversary of the beginning of the international conspiracy against Leader Abdullah Öcalan. [The day Öcalan was forced to leave the Middle East, after Turkey threatened Syria that they would start a war, if Öcalan was not handed over.] This conspiracy aimed to crush the will of libertarian people. The population in the region are marching to freedom and making great achievements with the ideas and philosophy of Leader Abdullah Öcalan. The invading Turkish state wants to kill us but we will never surrender. We will defend our lands to the last drop of blood and frustrate all conspiracies. With the struggle of the martyrs, we will free the leader and the occupied territories.”

Ebduselam Mistefa, a member of the TEV-DEM (Democratic Society Movement) Council in the Euphrates Region remarked that the Turkish state is targeting civilian settlements because it does not tolerate the achievements made by the people and the SDF in North-East Syria based on the democratic nation project. Mistefa vowed to resist the occupation plans and preserve the achievements.
