Two ISIS children handed over to Australian delegation

Two children of ISIS members from Australia have been handed over to a delegation from the Australian Ministry of Foreign Affairs by the autonomous administration at the Sêmalka border crossing.

A delegation from the Australian Ministry of Foreign Affairs met with representatives of the Autonomous Administration of North and East Syria at the Sêmalka border crossing to receive two children from ISIS members with Australian nationality.

Counter Racer, the representative of the Australian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, was received by the representatives of the autonomous administration and informed about the condition of the children who have lived in the Hol Camp near Heseke. Subsequently, a transfer agreement was signed and both children were handed over to Australian officials in the scope of international laws and protocols.

Counter Racer told journalists after the meeting that he would like to thank the Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF) and the autonomous administration for fighting ISIS and handing over children.

Fener al-Kiet, from the Department of Foreign Affairs of the Autonomous Administration, told ANHA that the grandparents of the children have so far campaigned for their transfer to Australia.
