Free Women's Movement condemns arrests of MEBYA-DER activists

TJA reacted to the arrest of MEBYA-DER executives and activists with a written statement saying "We do not recognize these fascist decisions imposed by the men's state on women.”

The Free Women's Movement (TJA) reacted with a written statement the arrests carried out in the framework of a political genocide operation targeting the Association of Solidarity with Families of those fallen in the Kurdish liberation struggle - MEBYA-DER.

The statement recalled that on the eve of 8 March, International Working Women's Day, a violent attack was launched against all opposition groups, especially women.

The statement added that MEBYA-DER executives and activists Ayşe Tutmaz, Ayşe Çelikbilek and Hülya Varan, who were detained unlawfully, were released on condition of judicial control, while Yüksel Almas was remanded in custody, as was Beritan Önen.

The statement continued: "We do not recognize these fascist decisions imposed by the male state on women. We will fight against all kinds of detention, violence, oppression, exploitation and special war policies targeting women. We will never give up our line of freedom and our work. We reiterate once again that we will continue to defend our social values. Long live our women's resistance.”
