KCDP: 53 women murdered in September in Turkey

A total of 354 women were murdered in the first 9 months of 2019 according to the latest report issued by the KCDP.

A report prepared by the Platform to Stop Women's Murders (KCDP) announced that 53 women were killed in Turkey in September.

According to the report, 11 of the murders were recorded as ‘suspicious deaths,, and 31 women could not be identified as to why.

According to the report, 53 women were killed by men last September. 11 of the women murders committed this month were recorded as suspicious deaths, while the cause of death of 31 women could not be established.

According to the report, of the 53 women were killed in September, 2 were killed on economic pretext, 9 had asked for a divorce.

The report stated that it was not established who killed 17 of the 53 women murdered in September.

As for the others "15 were killed by their husband, 6 by family member or known person, 5 by their partner, 3 by their son, 2 by their elder brother, 2 by former husband, 1 by her husband and family, 1 by someone she didn't know. 

18 women were killed by cutting tools, 12 by firearms, 2 by drowning, 1 by drowning and cutting tool, 1 by falling, 1 by chemical substance, 1 by burning.

 And unfortunately it has not been established how 17 women were killed.

30 of the women were killed in their homes, 6 in the street, 2 in a park, 1 in a barn, 1 in the garden, 1 in an entertainment venue, 1 in the workplace, 1 in a greengrocery, and 1 in a hotel.

2 of the killed women were found in a dam, 2 in the forest. It has not been determined where 5 women have been killed.
