KJK: Let's stand up against occupation on World Peace Day!

"Let's turn this day, which has a great meaning for humanity, into the peace and victory of the peoples of Kurdistan, the world and the Middle East. We call on everyone to increase their struggle against fascism and occupation, rape and injustice.”

In a written statement, the KJK (Kurdistan Women’s Community) Coordination sent messages against war, slaughter of women, isolation and occupation on the occasion of 1 September, World Peace Day, and called on Kurds to unite.

The KJK said that the Turkish regime is going through a very critical time, one in which the risk of collapse is real. It added that "the AKP-MHP genocidal regime will remain under the debris of this process."

The statement of the KJK said: "We celebrate 1 September World Peace Day of women, oppressed and working people with the hope and determination that we will create a world built with freedom and honourable peace. We are going through times when our belief and hope are high and we will develop a more decisive and resistance struggle for peace.”

The statement continued: “We greet everyone who struggles on this path with our revolutionary feelings. Today, we remember with respect and gratitude our martyrs who sacrificed their lives for peace, democracy and freedom. The 21st century was welcomed by all peoples and oppressed with their longing for peace, brotherhood, a world where they can live freely and their utopia; Unfortunately, some want to turn this century into a time full of chaos, conflict and heavy wars. But the 21st century is the women's century. The forces of the Capitalist Modernity and the sovereign, colonial and chaos-fed policies of the nation states have turned the Middle East into a sea of war. There is an unlimited exploitation of labor with ambition for profit and power, and the destruction of social links with the spread of liberalism in all spheres of life.

Today, societies, peoples, beliefs and all identities are subjected to genocide in the person of women. The determination that this century will be the century of women is based on the conditions for the emergence and resolution of the gender conflict and the necessity to achieve this.

The war we are experiencing in this century shows the ugliness reached by the male mentality. We hope that 1 September will lead to the development of a comfortable and free life for humanity and for all women. Let's improve our unity. It is time to organize against all occupying forces and stand against the occupation. Let's turn this day, which has a great meaning for humanity, into the peace and victory of the peoples of Kurdistan, the world and the Middle East. We call on everyone to increase their struggle against fascism and occupation, rape and injustice.”
