In a written statement, the European Kurdish Women's Movement (TJK-E) said that they will organize protests in many cities within the scope of the campaign they launched, “100 Reasons to prosecute the dictator”.
The statement read: "The male-dominated system aims to end the woman and the culture that develops around her. Women are systematically subjected to violence, women are kept under the threat of being killed, tortured, harassed and raped at any moment. Everyone knows that rape, harassment, arrest, torture and massacre have become the fundamental policy of the AKP-MHP fascist bloc to take over the society. As long as there is violence on it, human conscience will be trampled.”
The statement added: “It is the statist tradition itself that develops violence against women. Moreover, it is the state itself that highlights, nurtures, provokes the male domination's tendency to violence against women. Under the leadership of dictator Erdogan, it is precisely the state terror that the Turkish state has applied to different identities, minorities, belief groups, opposition groups, especially women. The number of women murdered, tortured and raped by this state terror is high. Most recently, 27 people, including sergeants and police officers, gang-raped a child in Gercüş, Batman. Those who left rapist expert sergeant Musa Orhan walk free yesterday are trying to cover up what happened in Gercüş today. But in this incident, it was once again seen that in this fascist regime led under the dictatorship of Erdogan, "rape" is being implemented as a special war policy in Kurdistan.
Do not forget that these women and children who were raped and murdered by state terror are not alone. We are their voices!”
The statement continued: “It should be known that women these days are stronger than ever. Today, women are organizing, producing policies and struggling with the consciousness and philosophical perspective developed by Reber Apo [Abdullah Ocalan]. Most importantly, women formed their own self-defense and resistance force in 4 parts of Kurdistan. Women challenge this state terror and do not allow fascism to pass. With the women's time created under the leadership of Reber Ocalan, women not only condemn violence, they show the power they have to eliminate this violence.”
The women reminded that it is “on this basis, that the European Kurdish Movement, within the scope of the campaign called ‘100 Reasons to prosecute the Dictator’, we will once again ask to bring the murderers to account with the actions we will take in front of the European Council in Brussels and in Berlin in front of the Berlin Parliament on 10 December and in Basel on 12 December.”
