Anka Language Culture and Art Association opens in Ankara

Anka Language Culture and Art Association (Anka-Der) was opened, which will carry out activities for the preservation and development of the Kurdish language and culture.

Anka Komelaya Ziman Çand Hûner-Anka Language Culture and Art Association (Anka-Der), which will carry out Kurdish language, culture and art activities in Ankara, opened in Kızılay.

Peoples' Democratic Party (HDP) Bitlis MP Celadet Gaydalı, Peoples' Democratic Congress (HDK) Ankara Provincial co-chair Ali İmran Daşkaya, HDP Ankara Provincial co-chair Vezir Coşkun Parlak, Human Rights Association (IHD) Ankara branch co-chair Fatih Kanat.

In the opening ceremony attended by mothers of peace and representatives of many unions and associations, the importance of speaking Kurdish in all dialects was underlined.

Anka-Der’s president Kemal Mükremin Barut took the floor at the opening. Drawing attention to the assimilation policies that have been going on for hundreds of years on the Kurdish language, Barut stated that they will organize Kurdish language and art courses.

Afterwards, the audience attending the opening gave examples from their own lives about the policies of oppression on Kurdish culture, and underlined the need to fight against it.
