Tunceli Governorate has banned the 17th Munzur Culture and Nature Festival in Dersim preparations for which have been completed already.

Tunceli Governorate has sent a notice to the Festival Organising Committee which stated that all meetings, demonstrations, marches, stand activities, leaflet distributions, tent activities, sit-in actions, concerts and all activities to be held in the scope of law on meetings and demonstrations No:2911 have been banned during the State of Emergency (OHAL) except for press statements.”

The annual Munzur Festival in Dersim city is organised by Dersim Municipality since 1999 and participated by political parties and mass organisations in addition to large numbers of civilians from across Turkey, Northern Kurdistan and Europe.

Activities as part of the festival are also held in the Ovacık, Mazgirt, Nazımiye, Pülümür and Hozat districts of Dersim with the initiative of municipalities.
