The protest held by the family and friends of Kurdish political prisoner Hamid Hossein Nejad Heyderanlu in front of the Revolutionary Court in Urmia has been ongoing for three days, Herana Human Rights Organization reported.
His family and friends are demanding that the death sentence handed down to Hamid Hossein Nejad be overturned.

Hamid Hossein Nejad Heyderanlu, 39, was arrested in July 2024 on charges of membership in the Kurdistan Workers’ Party (PKK) and was later sentenced to death for 'treason against the state.' He was placed in solitary confinement on April 15 in preparation for his execution and had his final meeting with his family on April 17. In response, his family began a sit-in protest in front of Urmia Central Prison, stating that the sentence was unlawful.
