The Shengal Culture and Art Festival kicked off for the first time yesterday under the motto of "Protect Your Culture Against Massacres".

Handicrafts, as well as the food and traditional garments of Shengal have been exhibited during the festival.

A photography exhibition about Shengal martyrs is also displayed. The festival does not only promote cultural products. Various artists/singers from Shengal to the Helegez valleys will participate in the festival.

The festival will continue with artistic activities in the afternoon.

Residents of Shengal have flocked to the festival area in their national dress.
