Security operation launched in Hol Camp

With the participation of Internal Security Forces, SDF and YPJ, a security operation was launched in Hol Camp, which is considered the most dangerous camp in the world.

The Internal Security Forces of North and East Syria announced the launch of a security operation in Hol Camp. The Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF) and Women’s Protection Units (YPJ) are also participating in the operation.

The statement by the Internal Security Forces said the following:

“There have been important political and military developments in our region recently, causing DAESH (ISIS) mercenaries to increase their movements. Trying to take advantage of the turmoil in the region, the mercenaries tried to increase their dominance in Syria and carried out many attacks for this purpose. At the same time, the mercenaries focused on self-organization.

One of the places where DAESH mercenaries are most active is Hol Camp. In recent days, DAESH mercenaries have increased their attempts to kidnap people from the camp.

The Hol Camp, where tens of thousands of ISIS families are staying, continues to be a potential fuse for future dangers. This situation continues to be a particularly heavy burden on the Autonomous Administration. International organizations have cut off aid to the camp, which has led to instability and humanitarian crises in the region.

It is no secret that DAESH is trying to raise the children in the camp with radical ideas. Humanitarian aid centers in the camp have been attacked many times by these mercenaries.

In order to prevent this terrorist idea from achieving its goal, our forces carried out preventive operations in different places and dates.

In order to continue our fight against terrorism within the framework of our humanitarian and military principles, we announce that the Internal Security Forces, Internal Security Forces-Women, Women's Protection Units (YPJ) and Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF) have launched a new security operation against ISIS mercenaries in Hol Camp.

This operation was launched directly on the grounds of security threats identified by the security forces. DAESH mercenaries are preparing to carry out a series of attacks both inside and outside the camp. This operation aims to prevent possible attacks.

On the occasion of this operation, we reiterate once again our insistence on protecting humanitarian values and reaffirm that we will continue our fight until we eliminate all sources of terrorism that threaten our region and the world.”
