The British Election Coordination, consisting of mass organizations from Kurdistan and Turkey, decided to support the Green Left Party in the elections.
The British Election Coordination, consisting of Kurdish, Alevi, revolutionary left and local associations in London, stepped up its campaign for the elections to be held in Turkey on May 14.
Carrying out the election campaign in London under the slogan "Peoples will win, fascism will lose", the coordination components announced that they would support the Green Left Party, which is a member of the Labour and Freedom Alliance.
The coordination urged the Kurdish and Turkish communities in other cities of Britain to vote for the Green Left Party and set up booths in many places across London.
‘PEOPLES WILL WIN, FACISM WILL LOSE’
The Election Coordination, which includes the Kurdish People's Assembly, the British Alevi Federation, the Tohum Cultural Centre, the Migrant Workers’ Cultural Association, the Alxas Community, the Kürecik Community, the Day-Mer, the Cemevi and Koçgiri Association, distributed flyers at its booths at 5 different points in North London. The coordination also displayed banners reading "Peoples Will Win, Fascism Will Lose" in many parts of London.
In the meantime, the coordination continues to recruit volunteers who want to take part in election security activities and the campaign.
İbrahim Avcil from the British Election Coordination called on the people to vote for the forces of labour and freedom against the one-man rule hostile to law, justice and democracy.
Avcil said: “Vote for the Green Left Party to end the AKP-MHP fascist government and to realize radical democracy.”
British Alevi Federation Co-Chair Dilek İncedal, Doğan Genç from the Kurdish People's Assembly, Fatma Yıldırım Polat from Enfield Alevi Cultural Centre, Olcay Has from the Alxas Community's Solidarity Centre and Fuat Yoldaş, British Representative of the European Confederation of Democratic Rights, made statements saying that the current oppressive government should go and calling for enhanced revolutionary, socialist, democratic and freedom struggle by supporting the Green Left Party.
The coordination components said that ballot boxes would be set up at only 4 points in Britain. They said that they would find a solution to this problem that seriously affects the participation in the elections. Accordingly, voters will be transported for 9 days from the regions predominantly inhabited by peoples from Turkey to the points where ballot boxes will be set up.
The coordination’s election campaign includes street props, radio and television programs, breakfast organizations, visits to weddings and houses.
The coordination has also established initiatives outside of London and will continue to inform voters and to recruit volunteers through social media.
