As part of ongoing operations against remnants of ISIS cells, the Military Operations Teams (TOL) of the Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF), with support from the International Coalition, conducted a security operation on Thursday, targeting a member of an ISIS terrorist cell in the village of Al-Tuwaimin, Shaddadi town, southeast of Heseke.
In a statement about the operation, the SDF Press Center said: "Following intelligence on the movements and activities of the terrorist Zahir Al-Kaidi Al-Fian, also known as Abu Ghazi, our forces raided his place and successfully captured him. The terrorist was an active ISIS member involved in smuggling terrorists, particularly foreign ISIS women, out of al-Hol camp."
During the operation, SDF forces seized several weapons, ammunition, and military equipment, including:
Two AK-47 rifles
Ten AK-47 magazines
One military telescope
"Our forces reaffirm their commitment to continuing security and military operations against ISIS until all remaining terrorist cells are dismantled and its influence is eradicated, ensuring the security and stability of the region," the SDF stated.
