Concert for Hasankeyf as new images from Ilisu Dam are released

While new images from the Ilisu Dam site which shows the growing dam reservoir, a cultural event for Hasankeyf and the Tigris River will take place in Istanbul on Saturday.

The Initiative to keep Hasankeyf alive has published new satellite images from the dam affected region. The destruction by the Ilisu Dam continues to grow, said activists who vowed to "continue to resist against the destruction of the 12,000 years old city. It is still not too late for Hasankeyf and the Tigris River!"

To make sure Hasankeyf is not forgotten and to stress that initiative is still needed, a cultural event will be held in Istanbul tomorrow, Saturday.

The cultural event for Hasankeyf and Tigris River will begin at 5 pm with theatre, exhibitions and information stands and will continue at 7 pm with a concert.

Ali Doğan Gönültaş, Ayfer Düzdaş, Cem Erdost İleri, Defjen, Merih Aşkın, Metin Kahraman, Taylan Yıldız, Ümit Taşkıran and other signers will be performing.

The event will take place in Yoğurtçu Park, Kadıköy, Istanbul.
