Civil society organizations and members of the "International Delegation for the solution to the Kurdish question and against isolation" delegation from Europe met in Istanbul.
The delegation today will visit the ongoing Vigil for Justice carried out by the relatives of the prisoners at the DEM Party Küçükçekmece district building and will then hold a press conference at the DEM Party Istanbul Provincial Organization.
The delegation visited Asrın Law Firm on Tuesday and then visited the Human Rights Association (IHD) Istanbul Branch accompanied by DEM Party Foreign Relations co-speakers Ebru Günay and Bedran Öztürk.
The delegation, whose main agenda was the isolation of Kurdish People's Leader Abdullah Öcalan and the solution to the Kurdish question, was welcomed by IHD Istanbul branch chair Gülseren Yoleri. People's Democratic Congress (HDK) co-spokesperson Esengül Demir and lawyers for Freedom Association (ÖHD) Istanbul branch co-chair Ishak Demirel also took part in the visit.
Expressing her gratitude to the delegation for the visit, IHD Istanbul branch co-chair Gülseren Yoleri spoke about the IHD's work areas and activities, especially in relation to prisons. Speaking to the delegation about the problems arising from the current government policies in Turkey and their reflections on society, Yoleri touched upon the importance of solidarity.
Visit to the DEM Party
The delegation then visited the Istanbul Provincial Organization of the Peoples Equality and Democracy Party (DEM Party). The delegation was welcomed here by DEM Party Parliament Group chair Gülistan Kılıç Koçyiğit and party executives.
At the end of the visit, which was closed to the press, the press was briefed on the main topics of the meeting. It was learned that the delegation was informed about the aggravated isolation and absolute lack of communication with Abdullah Öcalan, the negative repercussions of the Imrali isolation and the war policies on the Kurdish question in Turkey, the Middle East and Europe, and the DEM Party's perspectives on a democratic solution.
