Invasion can’t pass in Afrin, Erdoğan alone again

The greatest response to Erdoğan’s threats against Afrin came from the peoples of Northern Syria while the invasion has received no support from the international public.

After Erdoğan ordered the attack, the Turkish army targeted Afrin from the border outposts in Hatay and Kilis and Idlib and yesterday they spread their attacks to the cities of Kobanê and Dêrik.

Tens of thousands of people took to the streets in Kobanê, Afrin, Cilaxa and Girê Spî provinces and responded gloriously to Turkish invasionism.

ARTILLERY FIRE CONTINUED ON DAY 5

The Turkish army continued its attacks on the Kurdish people in Northern Syria on the fifth day and carried out mortar attacks on the Kefernasih village in the Shehba Canton where residential areas suffered damages in the attack. The Turkish army also carried out artillery attacks against the Kefer Cene village and the Dikmedaş Hill in the Shera district of Afrin.

ONE CHILD WOUNDED

Euphrates Shield gangs in Azaz also participated in the Turkish army’s attacks from the border outposts and Idlib. In artillery fire from Azaz to the Shera district’s Kefer Cene village, a 6-year-old boy named Mustefa Seydo was wounded. The child has been receiving treatment in the hospital in Afrin and is reportedly in stable condition.

ATTACKS SPILLED OVER TO KOBANÊ AND DÊRİK

The Turkish army, having invaded Jarablus city under the guise of the Euphrates Shield, also attacked the Zormixar village in Kobanê on Thursday. By the morning hours, the gangs expanded their attacks with artilleries and targeted the Şexler village. YPG/YPJ and Self Defense Forces have retaliated the attacks.

After Afrin and Kobanê, the Turkish army is targeting the Derik province in the Cizre Canton. At 16.00 in the afternoon, the Turkish army attacked YPG positions in the Zuheriye and Xerab Reşik villages in the Derik region’s Berav area, and YPG and YPJ fighters retaliated harshly.

GLORIOUS RESPONSE TO ATTACKS

The people of Afrin have responded to the invasion threats by the Turkish state with a glorious march they held with tens of thousands of people.

The people gave messages of “Social Defense Forces don’t accept fascist Erdoğan’s intervention” and “Afrin will never bow down” in the march.

Tens of thousands of people in the marches in Girê Spî and Kobanê with the same purpose and gave the message, “Afrin will prevail”.

The invading Turkish state’s threats and attacks against Afrin were protested in Greek capital Athens.

Protesters gathered in the Syntagma Square and started their march with chants of, “Bijî Berxwedana Efrînê”, “Bijî Serok Apo”, “Bijî Kurd û Kurdistan”.

Turkish state’s threats against Afrin were protested in Nicosia, Cyprus as well.

The crowd marched to the Russian Embassy and protested the Turkish state’s attacks and threats against Afrin.

Protests in Europe will continue throughout the weekend in many centers.

THE INTENT TO INVADE RECEIVED NO SUPPORT FROM INTERNATIONAL PUBLIC

Turkish President Erdoğan has accelerated “war diplomacy” to find the support he seeks for the Afrin attack. He sent Turkish Chief of Staff Hulusi Akar and Turkish National Intelligence Agency MİT Undersecretary Hakan Fidan to Russia.

The Turkish side has asked Russia to open the air field. But Russia hasn’t issued an official statement on the matter.

At the same time Akar and Fidan were in Moscow, the Damascus administration issued a statement that said if Turkish aircrafts attack Afrin, they will down them. This statement was considered Russia’s message to the Turkish state over Damascus.

The US also issued a statement on the issue and as a warning said, “We are calling on the Turks to not take any actions in this direction,” namely the AKP government’s threats and attack preparations against Afrin.
