'We may lack resources but not determination'

“We are going through a heavy period, we had losses in this process, but we are in a war environment, we will not give up. This is the culture in the PKK: the battle of wills begins when there is no opportunity.”

Berwelat Mazlum, born in Hesekê, was one of the YJA Star guerrillas who fell as a martyr during the resistance against the invasion attempt carried out in Zap by the Turkish army since 23 April.

Guerrilla Mazlum fell a martyr along with Gulistan Çiya in the bombardment carried out on 12 June. She had spoken to ANF about the participation of the guerrillas in the Bazên Zagrosê Revolutionary Campaign, her loyalty to her martyr comrades, and the enemy's activity in the images taken before she fell a martyr. “We are going through a heavy period, we suffered losses in this process, but we are in a war environment, we will not give up. It is the culture of the PKK: the war of will begins when there is no opportunity. That's why we will fight with this determination until the end.”

Berwelat Mazlum continued: “Conflicts continue in the Küçük Cilo area. We are also on active service, but when we hear the sounds of clashes there, the desire to go there and join the clashes increases. We try to support and help our friends with the actions we take here. The more we can support them in this region, the more we will alleviate the burden there. Sniper actions gave the most results. Although the soldiers stationed on Martyr Mervan Hill did their best to decipher the location of our snipers, they could not achieve their goals. We saw how the knees of the soldiers trembled after each action. Even creating this fear in the enemy is a success for guerrillas. Even if we remove hundreds of military stations, we know that it would not be enough to equal the value of our martyr friends. Despite our shortages, we will do our best to avenge our martyr friends.”
