Oppression of those who show solidarity with the newspaper Özgür Gündem continues. Journalists Hasan Cemal and Said Sefa, actress Deniz Türkali, Alevi leader Hasan Hayri Şanlı, HDP Central Committee Members Çilem Küçükkeleş and Dicle Anter who had taken on the role of chief editor for one day in the 'Editor-in-Chiefs on Watch' campaign are also facing charges of “terrorist propaganda” now.

55 people have joined the campaign since the day it was launched on May 3 World Press Freedom Day and 50 of them are facing charges.

Prof. Dr. Şebnem Korur Fincancı, author Ahmet Nesin and journalist Erol Önderoğlu had been arrested earlier because they joined the campaign.
