Representatives of political party representatives in South Kurdistan stated that the AKP violated international legal norms as it shut town opposition and free press.
In their statements to the ANF, Goran Movement Spokesperson Nebert Kakai and Komala İslam Kurdistan Spokesperson Mıhemed Celil and condemned the AKP’s attacks on opposition and free press and described the attacks as unacceptable.
Goran Movement Spokesperson Nebert Kakai: No power can discourage the resistance of the people of North Kurdistan. AKP increased its attacks because it is in a difficult political situation. AKP attacks opposition media to hide the gains of Kurdish people. Shutting down TV channels with no legal basis is immoral. I call upon everyone to act against these policies.
Komala İslam Kurdistan Spokesperson Mıhemed Celil: It is immoral to oppress and shut down press organizations. Closing down the press means limiting freedoms and oppositional voices. The Turkish state’s closure of these TV channels and radio stations is immoral. AKP is acting against the laws. Everyone must raise their voices against these policies.
