Arrested following the closing of Özgür Gündem and taken to Bakırköy Closed Women’s Prison, the newspaper’s publication Advisory Board member and novelist Aslı Erdoğan is kept in a single-person observation room.

Aslı Erdoğan made a request to be transferred to the political prisoners’ ward from her current single-person cell, but was denied by the prison authorities. She was told to “Wait a few more days, then decide”.
