A committee from Kurdistan that attended the conference held by France Journalists' Union called for solidarity against the AKP’s coupist practices.
France Journalists' Union held a conference in Nantes which was also attended by Engin Sincer, DTM Co-chair Gulasor Uzun, DTM Member Nizam Çewlik and media worker Ferdi Bingöl.
Uzun mentioned AKP’s coupist practices that don’t recognize international treaties in her speech in French. She stated that the AKP was targeting Kurds, Alevis and the opposition and using the coup attempt on July 15 to their own interest. Uzun recalled that many television and radio networks have been closed off recently, and asked: “Will you hold solidarity events for our colleagues who are being silenced by the Erdoğan dictatorship?”
Remarking that the closing of Med Nûçe TV under pressure from the AKP cast a shadow on European democracy, Uzun said “closing Med Nûçe that announced Erdoğan’s relationship to ISIS is to support ISIS”. She also called on the French media to show solidarity.
“WE WILL BE BY YOUR SIDE”
Edouard Perrin, Herve Kemph, Jean Christophe Boulanger, Patrick Eveno and Dominique Pradalie from France Journalists Union talked about the current process in Turkey. The speakers gave a message: “We will be by your side.”
