PARIS
Led by the France Democratic Kurdish Council, nearly 150 people gathered in front of Lourmel subway station to protest Eutelsat’s closure of Med Nuçe TV and Hotbird’s closure of Newroz TV. The Kurdish TV channels were closed upon the request of the Radio and Television Supreme Council in Turkey. TEVÇAND party assembly, ACTIT, ADKH and Paris Pir Sultan Abdal Association supported the protest, and protestors condemned Erdoğan’s policies and the closure of Kurdish TV channels.
COLOGNE
People of Kurdistan and their allies came together in Ebertplatz and marched to Mediapark to protest the attacks on Kurdish and democratic media. Members of NAV-DEM and the Democratic Union supported the protest, and protestors called upon the EU to withdraw its support to Erdoğan’s dictatorship. KCD-E Co-President Yüksel Koç, TV representatives, Eğitim-Sen former Co-President Sakine Esenyılmaz, FEDA representative Özgür Öz, Ceni Women’s Organization representative Ayten Kaplan and AGİF President Şafak Deniz addressed the protestors during the event.
MARSEILLE
Protestors led by the France Democratic Kurdish Council gathered in Vieux-Port to protest the closures of Med Nuçe TV and Newroz TV. Protestors chanted slogans such as “Murderer Erdoğan, accomplice Eutelsat” and “ No to censorship”, and condemned Eutelsat’s collaboration with the Turkish state.

People of Kurdistan and their allies gathered in front of the CGT Rhone Union building to condemn the fascist attacks against Kurdish people, democracy forces and the free press. Protestors condemned Eutelsat’s closure of Med Nuçe TV upon the request of the AKP government, as well as Hotbird’s closure of Newroz TV.
