European Culture and Art Workers condemn raids on Stêrk TV and Medya Haber TV studios

European Culture and Art Workers condemned the raids on Stêrk TV and Medya Haber TV studios and called on everyone to" defend our will and the press institutions that are our voice."

BELGIAN POLICE RAIDS ON KURDISH MEDIA

In a written statement condemning the raids on Stêrk TV and Medya Haber TV studios, European Culture and Art Workers said: "Following the invasion attacks launched by the colonialist Turkish state against southern Kurdistan, the Belgian state carried out a police raid on Stêrk TV and Medya Haber TV studios, which are the free voice of the Kurdish people."

The statement added: "It is not a coincidence that these attack operations against Southern Kurdistan, Stêrk TV and Medya Haber TV studios, and the police political operations carried out against the free press in Ankara and Istanbul this morning, were developed simultaneously. It is an attempt to attack the Kurdish demand for freedom. As Kurdish cultural and artistic workers, we do not accept this situation in any way. We condemn this operation launched by the Belgian government against Stêrk TV and Medya Haber TV, without following any legal procedure, in the center of Europe, which talks about democracy and human rights every day."

The statement continued: "Let's raise our voices in the squares against all these genocidal operations, raise our cry for freedom with the resistance of our people, and defend our will and the press institutions that are our voice. Let's not allow our voices to be silenced. Let's stand side by side with the press institutions where we freely express our culture and art."
