French satellite company Eutelsat has sent a new instruction to satellite provider yesterday and demanded the suspension of Med Nuçe TV's broadcast at 10:00 today.
Following the coup on the opposition media by the fascist Turkish state and the plug being pulled in over 20 networks that were the voice of Kurds, Alevis and workers, Eutelsat ordered Med Nuçe TV’s broadcast be stopped last week. Kurdish people and allies in Paris gathered in front of the Eutelsat building and held a protest.
France Democratic Kurdish Council (CDK-F) officials met with Eutelsat officials and afterwards made the announcement that “Eutelsat officials have admitted that the Turkish state has sent a letter to Eutelsat via RTÜK (Radio and Television Supreme Council) demanding Med Nuçe’s broadcast be stopped.”
Mednuçe TV started to broadcast in 2013.
Eutelsat had suspended the broadcast of Kurdish Roj TV in early 2012.
Kurds are expected to hold protests across Europe starting from today against the action of the French satellite company acting in line with Turkey's demand.
