JINNEWS journalist Gültekin acquitted
JINNEWS journalist Rozerin Gültekin was detained while following news in Bursa. She was acquitted in the case where she was tried on the charge of "violating the law on meetings and marches".
The decision hearing of the case filed against JINNEWS journalist Rozerin Gültekin, who was detained together with Mezopotamya Agency (MA) reporter Ergin Çağlar while covering the Bursa leg of the "Gemlik March" held on 12 June 2022 to protest the isolation of Kurdish people’s leader Abdullah Öcalan, was held at Bursa 18th Court of First Instance.
Journalist Gültekin and her lawyers did not attend the hearing of the trial for "violation of the Law on Meetings and Demonstrations No. 2911".
In its opinion, the prosecution requested punishment for the same allegation against Gültekin. The court panel decided to acquit Gültekin.
