Detained journalist Fırat Can Arslan's post about imprisoned reporters was made the subject of accusation.
The statement by Mesopotamya Agency (MA) correspondent Fırat Can Arslan, who was taken into custody following a raid on his house in Ankara within the scope of an investigation launched in Kırşehir, has still not been taken.
His lawyers met with Arslan, who is being held at the Kırşehir Police Department, and talked about the investigation.
The lawyer said that proceedings were initiated against Arslan within the scope of an investigation opened in Konya in 2022. He added that the file was later sent to Kırşehir with the decision of "no jurisdiction".
The lawyer said that Arslan was charged with "praising crime and criminals", and added that his social media posts were shown as evidence for the accusation.
Police seized many books from Arslan's house, as well as the poetry book of former Peoples' Democratic Party (HDP) co-chair Figen Yüksekdağ. The lawyer said that Arslan is expected to be taken to the courthouse today.
