Female journalists Ilahe Mohammadi and Niloufer Hamidi, who were arrested for reporting the murder of Jina Amini, were released after 17 months in prison.

The two journalists gained their freedom by paying a bail fee to the Iranian regime.

The women were welcomed with great enthusiasm by families and friends.

The Guillermo Cano Press Freedom Award was given to the two journalists this year.

Niloufer Hamidi was sentenced to 7 years in prison for 'collaborating with the US, which is defined as an enemy state', 5 years in prison for 'conspiracy against national security' and 1 year in prison for 'propaganda against the Islamic Republic'.
