Free Women’s Congress (KJA) issued a written statement on closure of Jin News Agency (JINHA) and other free press organizations.

In its statement, KJA said that fascism always tries to suffocate those that voice and shed light on the truth, and those that resist fascism struggle for the truth to the death. KJA noted that JINHA began to operate as a free website of women that did not give heed to the patriarchy, states and government, and has continued its struggle for women’s freedom and gender equality without giving up on any of its principles in the darkness of fascism.

KJA said “JINHA has shown zero tolerance to the AKP-led media’s approach that legitimizes violence against women, and has become the morale and strength of women as it defied all pressures and fascist policies. The resistance of JINHA and other free press organizations, which have been closed down with the latest emergency decree, is our resistance.”

Lastly, KJA called upon all women to volunteer for JINHA and show solidarity with the website in order to enhance the struggle for women’s liberation.
