Three female journalists transferred to Marmara Closed Prison

Imprisoned journalists Pınar Gayıp, Gülistan Dursun and Serpil Ünal were deported from Bakırköy Women's Closed Prison to Marmara Closed Prison.

Journalists Gülistan Dursun, Etkin News Agency (ETHA) reporter Pınar Gayıp and Struggle Union Newspaper reporter Serpil Ünal, were remanded in custody for participating in the protest in Şişhane Square in Beyoğlu, Istanbul on 21 December  for journalists Nazım Daştan and Cihan Bilgin, killed by a drone attack while covering event in Northern and Eastern Syria.

The three female journalists were held in Bakırköy Women's Closed Prison but were deported to Marmara Closed Prison after being taken from their ward and told they would be brought to the infirmary.

It was learned that the prison administration did not even allow the imprisoned journalists to collect their belongings, nor inform their families. The families were told of the transfer by other prisoners in the ward when they phoned their families.
