Activists in Stuttgart hold action for the disappeared people
An action was organised in Stuttgart to remember the disappeared people of Turkey and pay tribute to the Saturday Mothers.
An action was organised in Stuttgart to remember the disappeared people of Turkey and pay tribute to the Saturday Mothers.
The International Committee Against Disappearances in Custody (ICAD), the activists from Saturday Mothers Stuttgart, New Women, ADKH, Die Linke- Kreisverband Stuttgart, SKB, AGIF and Zusammen Kämpfenen activists joined an actions organisted in Stuttgart for the disappeared.
ICAD activists read a statement published in German. The statement said: "On 21 March 1995 the police detained Hasan Ocak in Istanbul. On 17 May his remains were found by his family in the plot of the unknown people in Istanbul graveyard. Hasan Ocak, who is the symbol and honor of the struggle against the disappeared while in custody, was taken from the cemetery of the unknown on May 19. We salute the struggle of the Saturday Mothers which is going on for 25 years."
The statement reminded of the week for the disappeared people from 17 to 31 May.
