The Justice Vigil launched by relatives of prisoners in the Diyarbakır Bar Association service building, continued on its 32nd day. Today, the Peoples' Democratic Party (HDP) Egil District Organization and residents of Seyrantepe visited the families.

Yaşar Aydın, who came from the Egil area to pay a visit, emphasized the isolation of Kurdish People's Leader Abdullah Öcalan, saying, "Due to the deepening isolation, pressures are spreading to every prison. With us mothers are also doing extremely honorable protest in response to these circumstances. These protests must expand throughout the country. We have also spent time in jails and are familiar with the oppression that exists there. Everyone must stand up to oppression and tyranny." 

Ömer Akgunduz, one of the executives of the HDP Egil District Organization, stated that mothers give inspiration and hope to society. He demanded that mothers' actions be reclaimed.

Reşahat Ada, family member of a prisoner, drew attention to the sick prisoners who have died in jail, noting that the deaths heightened their fears. Ada continued, "We've been on vigil for justice for a month. That's enough,  we don't want any more deaths in prisons. The Ministry of Justice should hear our complaints and demands. We don't want to shoulder our children's coffins. Every time our children are transported to the hospital, their conditions grow even worse due to quarantines. We want the ill prisoners released."

'OUR VIGIL WILL CONTINUE UNTIL WE GET RESULTS'

In response to the revocation of conditional release, Inci Guler declared that her efforts are for all sick prisoners. She emphasized that the protest will not end until their demands are met.

Fevziye Kolakan, whose two children are in prison and whose conditions are worsening by the day, called for all ill prisoners to be released. "All we want is justice served. Anything else would be a waste of our time," Kolakan stated.

Local residents who visited the families declared that they will continue to pay solidarity visits until the initiative achieves its purpose.

A prisoner's relative, Hakkı Boltan, emphasized that with their vigil, they seek justice for all.

Author Herdem Mervanî stated that their mood improves with each visit: "Our voice should be heard all over the world. They must be aware of our suffering. We receive solidarity. However, more has to be done. Our voices must be heard because serious offenses have been committed and those must be exposed."
