Female prisoners in Bünyan: Our health is getting worse

In a telephone conversation with her family, Merve Aydoğan who is in Kayseri Bünyan Women's Closed Prison, said that she and her three female friends experienced vision loss, problems breathing and dry throat.

Merve Aydoğan, a celiac prisoner in Kayseri Bünyan Women's Closed Prison, told her family during a phone conversation about some health problems she and other prisoners have experienced. 

Merve Aydoğan said: "Last Friday evening, my stomach was upset and I had problems seeing clearly. I still can't see properly, I received a letter and I couldn't read it."

Aydoğan added: "The same thing happened to Rojda Tokçu four days later. She felt dizzy, her eyes blurred. She had to sit while talking on the phone. She couldn't remain standing. Pınar Demir had the same symptoms. Nazlı Sogli has a sore throat and dry cough. I also have sore throat, as well as issues with breathing and eyes."

Aydoğan continued: "The prison doctor came, but he didn't understand my problems. He showed a letter or something but I couldn't read it. We could not go to an external hospital and no doctor was brought from the outside."
